Incremental Benefit of Focused N95 Mask distribution
Every individual who wears an N95 mask and eye protection benefits.
Application of N95 mask use by any population, say persons in Houston at risk for severe covid disease. Persons who are active, do not want to stay home all the time and are over 65 possibly with some health risk factors as well would greatly benefit by having and wearing N95 masks. This might reduce the rate of hospitalizations as a function of number of active cases in a community by blocking transmission to the vulnerable. Thus what is popularly called the mortality rate (and morbidity).
This is really the number we want to fall. Focused distribution of masks to these at risks individuals would produce great benefit, IMHO.
This population is likely to listen and understand their personal benefit.
This might let them interact with the grandchildren again safely.
